9 Day Tour from Marrakech to Marrakech – £355 per person plus £100 Local Payment – REGULAR DEPARTURES.
How does the idea of a 9 day stay in Marrakech sound to you, with all that Moroccan culture has to offer in this busy metropolis? We start in the beautiful, vibrant city of Marrakech and take in an exciting 3 day trek. This will include the awe inspiring village of Imlil situated in the High Atlas Mountains; then Setti Fatma, a welcome escape from the heat of Marrakesh below, situated in the Ourika Valley understandably a place popular with artists. For those who enjoy hiking you will love this area of peace and tranquillity. From here, a short excursion to the southern Atlantic coast; where you will have 2 whole days to do as you wish, perhaps visit the luxurious beach, stroll through the walled town, or if you’re an adrenalin junkie you can experience some water sports, hire some kit and dive in, anything you like which can include kite surfing, windsurfing, or surfboarding. Then for some real adventure, with an exploration of the Atlantic coast, we visit the rock arches of Sidi Ifni, a beautiful city on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, Souss-Mass National Park over 30, 000 hectares of dunes, wetlands, and beaches between Agadir and Sidi Ifni, and the fishing village of Mirleft only a few miles from Agadir itself. Then we’re back in Marrakech to visit the most famous city in Morocco. You will be staying in well-respected 3 star hotels and travel by A/C minibus with your local Pillow tour leader and local driver who know the area well enough to answer all your questions.

|Here’s how it works, you check into the central hotel and your day is your own until 7pm at which time you will meet up with our Pillow tour leader for any important information before we depart, and of course to meet all your fellow passengers and make new friends. Your tour leader will guide you through some of the most fascinating areas of Marrakesh, such as the main square Djemaa el-Fna where you can experience the aromas, sights and sounds of Moroccan life and shop at the Souq. Then try some North African cuisine at your leisure and try some delicious snacks from the food stands.|
|(Sunday) 3 Day 2 Night Imlil to Setti Fadma Trek (B) (L) (D)|
|Here is where your 3 day trek begins, as we start off with a 1hr drive following breakfast and take a journey into the beautiful Atlas Mountains to find the village of Imlil (elevation 1740 metres), where you can stock up on any supplies you may still need. From there we go to the Berber village of Tachdirth walking, and this should take, roughly around 5 hours. Here you will walk through meditative fields of barley and pass through dream like orchards of walnuts, apple and cherry trees, aromatic pine and juniper woods. We can take in many Berber villages along the way, showing a more thoughtful and authentic look at Moroccan life such as Wanskra and Amagdoul. We stay overnight in a gite d’etape where you can experience traditional Berber food, take a hot shower after, and rest in a warm bed after your 3 day trek .|
|(Monday) 3 Day 2 Night Imlil to Setti Fadma Trek (B) (L) (D)|
|Following breakfast we walk to the village of Timichi (1850) and walk uphill to Tizin’Tiachdirth (3200m) from where you can take in the panoramic views of the mountains with their snow topped peaks glimmering in the sunlight. There will be another traditional Berber lunch at the village of Laabbassen (2030m) before moving again and travelling downhill to Timichi, a charming mountainous village set amongst ancient nut trees, where compactly built houses fit snuggly into the rocks. Here we will have our dinner and stay overnight to take advantage of Berber hospitality and cuisine.|
|(Tuesday) 3 Day 2 Night Imlil to Setti Fadma Trek Drive to Essaouira (B) (L)|
|Following on from breakfast there will be a journey of about 4 to 5 hours towards the east down a valley full of impressive cornfields and shaded walnut groves taking in some picturesque streams that flow down from the upper slopes. We will take in the villages of Anfli and Tadrat and arrive at the heavenly Ourika Valley and the traditional village of Setti Fadma. Here, a picnic just outside the village to refresh ourselves before walking for another 30 minutes to reach our transport. Arriving back at our minibus we will then travel to the Atlantic coastal town of Essaouira, a town steeped in history and occupied since prehistoric times. Here we will stay overnight.|
|(Wednesday) in Essaouira (B)|
|A day of leisure in Essaouria so that you can take in this historic town and its stunning architecture while walking slowly down narrow archways, take in traditional blue and painted doors, and the whitewashed houses that are so familiar to Moroccan design. A beautiful and compact little town, there is plenty to do, visiting cafes, art galleries, and the traditional town square. The beach isn’t too far away and there are plenty of water sports for those interested in active sports such as windsurfing, kite surfing or surfboarding, and then you can hit the ocean in style. The equipment is for hire and is relatively inexpensive.|
|(Thursday) in Essaouira (B)|
|This will be your second free day in Essaouria where you can again experience this delightful coastal town in your own time, at your own leisure. You can, if you wish, travel a little further and visit a neighbouring village such as Diabat, a swift journey by taxi, where you will find the ruins of Bordj El Berod, an ancient watchtower.|
|(Friday) Essaouira to Nat Park to Sidi Ifni to Mirleft to Marrakech (B)|
|Today is a completely new destination as we travel along the beautiful coastal road, taking in views from the sea in a southerly direction, and visit the impressive Souss-Massa National Park with fantastic landscapes such as cliffs, dunes and forests. We visit Legzira beach where we see the visually imposing rock arches that loom magnificently over the water. Then we take in some leisure time in the fishing village of Mirleft, and back to the lively city of Marrakech where we stay overnight.|
|(Saturday) in Marrakech (B)|
|After so much walking and hiking what better way to travel around Marrakesh than to take in the sights by horse and carriage? This will take half a day, and take in the Menara gardens dating back to the 13th century, the beautiful and haunting Saadian tombs discovered in the early part of the 20th century, and the traditional Islamic and Moroccan style Bahia Palace, which means “brilliance” and which lives up to its name. We will also visit the Koutoubia, the largest mosque in Marrakesh, and the Dar Si Said Museum which contains some of the most sumptuously beautiful pieces of Moroccan art. We finish off back at the Djemaa el-Fna square where we eat together for lunch and share our experiences. Following this there will be a free afternoon in case there is anything you haven’t seen or want to to buy before you travel home the following day. This evening will be our last before we bid a fond farewell to Morocco.|
- Meet and greet at Marrakech airport on day one of tour, and transfer to our Marrakech tour hotel.
- All transport around Morocco in Air-conditioned mini-bus or car with local driver.
- All accommodation during the tour (7 nights in 3-4 star hotels (based on twin/triple share) and 1 night Sahara camping in Berber tents.

- Services of local Moroccan based fully trained, English speaking Pillow Tour leader.
Whats NOT Included?
- Your international flights to and from Marrakech airport, and any accommodation before day one or after the morning of day nine.
- Your visa to enter Morocco if required?
- Your local payment of £100, which has to be paid directly to your tour leader during the pre-departure meeting on the evening of day one.
- Any meals or drinks not listed above.
- Your personal travel insurance which is compulsory and must include medical repatriation cover.
- Any extra costs or activities you wish to enjoy, for example if you wish to have a Hammam (Turkish bath) in Fez (Day 4) the cost is around £8 per person. A camel ride in the desert (Day 5) the cost is around £15 per person. For the goodbye dinner in Marrakech the group sometimes visits Fantasia Chez Ali (Dinner and show) the cost is around £30 per person.
